Destiny integrates circulation, cataloging, searching, reporting and library management
At a glance, you can locate, report and determine the status of every library resource
This program will improve student accountability and reduce loss and associated replacement costs.
We would be able to track and report on library inventory by patron, resource, title, building or district.
Students/parents can receive an email reminder of materials that are overdue.
This program will follow the patron as they move through the district.
We can customize the program so that it will follow each school's circulation policy.(Diane) For example, you can set up different loan periods and/or fines for students, faculty, or volunteers, or types of materials. You can indicate if a book is renewable, if there is a maximum fine. or when holds expire. Do you want it to count calendar days or only the number of days that the library is open?
You can also indicate if your site makes materials available for interlibrary loans. You can make the patron's picture appear when the patron record is accessed (at checkout, to place a hold, etc.)
(Information found on a PDF document on Follett's website) 7/1/09 Diane
Students can request books or put them on hold.
You can check items out to patrons using names, barcodes, pictures, and homeroom lists.
If students are renewing more than what your school policy allows, a warning box will appear during checkout. The same thing will happen if they have a fine.
From the circulation tab, you check items in or out, check on fines or holds, patron status, or copy status.
Follett Remote is a searate applidcation that allows you to collect copy and patron barcodes when a connection to the internet is not available. (We found this to be a real pain, though).
You can set up a calendar. Destiny uses the calendar to assign due dates, calculate fines, manage holds, and report circulation statistcs. You indicate what days the library is closed, and items will never be due when the library is closed. (Blue info is from FSC book.)
